Kimberly Colmey

Kimberly ColmeyKim joined Reese-Beisbier & Associates in February 2016, after spending the first four years of her career practicing family law at another firm in Forsyth County. Kim was ecstatic to join the Reese-Beisbier and Associates team and further her skills as an advocate and litigator. During her time practicing family law, Kim has both litigated and resolved a wide range of domestic cases, including both bench and jury trials. Recently, Kim won an appeal to the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Kim grew up in upstate New York and attended St. John’s University in New York City, where she graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Sport Management. While at St. John’s, Kim received the Michelle Doherty Award, which is given annually to the female with the highest grade point average in the Sport Management program. Kim then attended John Marshall Law School and graduated valedictorian of her class. During her time at JMLS, Kim also interned with the Georgia Public Defender Counsel, Appellate Division, working on adult and juvenile appellate cases throughout the state of Georgia. Following law school, Kim spent time interning with the Honorable William S. Duffey, Jr. in the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia, before beginning practicing family law in November of 2012.

Kim is actively involved in the community, as a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Forsyth County Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the Georgia Bar. Kim has also volunteered as an attorney coach for the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition. Kim is passionate about advocating for domestic violence victims, and is a member of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Kim lives in Alpharetta, Georgia and spends her free time traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
